Remember that Matt Damon–John Krasinski co-written film that was set to be Damon’s directorial debut before he bailed? Good Will Hunting director Gus Van Sant jumped aboard shortly after to get things back on track, with Damon and Krasinski still co-starring. Now the film, which came from a first draft by Dave Eggers, has a new studio in indie house Focus Features, a marked shift from Warner Bros. and likely a better fit for the $15 million budget. Newly titled Promised Land, Deadline says the plot features Damon and Krasinski as sparring corporate execs.
