Deal with this, American Idol: when you take into account “time-shifters†(sadly not a time travel term, just a jargony word for people who watch shows after they’re broadcast), Modern Family is the highest-rated show on TV among 18-49 year olds. Yeah, you sad, American Idol? You gonna go sing a song about it? Maybe a nice ballad? The networks still sell ad time based on the C3 metric, which counts viewers only in the three days after a show airs, but those three days actually include about 93% of all Modern Family viewers.
