It’s common knowledge that asteroid-miner James Cameron was planning at least a couple Avatar sequels. Now he’s really committing, telling the New York Times a fourth movie might be coming, and that he’s “in the Avatar business. Period. That’s it.†Meaning he won’t produce your non-Avatar movie (“I’ve made two movies in 16 years, and I’ve done eight [deep-ocean] expeditionsâ€), and he won’t take your script, either. “But the point is I think within the Avatar landscape I can say everything I need to say that I think needs to be said, in terms of the state of the world and what I think we need to be doing about it. And doing it in an entertaining way,†he says. Ah, and if he can’t do all that, he’ll make a documentary, maybe.
