Swizz Beatz Isn’t Quite Off the Hook for Megaupload

Please now cast your minds back to January, when Megaupload was shut down, its colorful founder Kim Dotcom was arrested in a standoff, and Swizz Beatz was very briefly identified as the file-sharing company’s CEO. Swizz’s lawyer denied that claim, and he wasn’t named in the first round of filings — but now it looks like U.S. authorities are going after Swizz in order to make a case against Megaupload. Meanwhile, Kim Dotcom is having a grand old time writing letters from house arrest in New Zealand. His kicker: “This open letter is free of copyright. Use it freely.†There’s a successful blogging career in somebody’s future!
