Aw, come on. Variety is reporting that a reboot of the classic character Ernest P. Warren is in the works. It will be called Son of Ernest, and I expect it to be slightly lower in quality than Son of the Mask. Just imagine some annoying little child actor wearing denim and that hat and saying “You know what I mean?†in a too-high, pre-pubescent voice. This may be enough for Jim Varney, who died in 2000 at age 50, to start haunting the offices of Rukusfilm. Which I think is actually the plot of the seventh or eighth Ernest movie? [via]
