Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with his hero David Letterman Wednesday brought in some of the comedian’s best ratings in years. The New York Times reports that the show’s 2.3 million viewers were the best it’s ever had for a Wednesday night and the 985,000 viewers in the 18-49 group represented a five-year high for the show for that demographic. This comes just two months ahead of Kimmel moving from 12:05 to 11:35 in January, when he’ll go head to head with Letterman and Leno for the first time ever. It’s nice that Kimmel and Letterman are going to be much friendlier rivals than Leno and Letterman have been. Don’t expect Kimmel and Leno to get along so well.
