ABC has given a script commitment to a new show from Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody called Alex + Amy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The single-camera comedy follows the generation gap between a 22-year-old guy and a 32-year-old lady who are in love and just moved in together. This is Cody’s first TV project since The United States of Tara, which won several awards before ending its three-season run on Showtime last year. Alex + Amy is just one of several projects Cody has in the works, including her untitled directorial debut, which has finished production and is expected to hit theaters sometime next year, and the Evil Dead remake, which she co-wrote. Alex + Amy presumably won’t have as many evil demons in it as Evil Dead, but we’ll see.
