Longtime Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac will be leaving the series at the end of the year, Vulture reports. Cenac, who joined the show as both a correspondent and writer in 2008, will make his last appearance on December 13th, The Daily Show’s last new episode of 2012. No word yet on what Wyatt Cenac’s post-Daily Show plans are, but the guy’s got a lot to keep him busy. Cenac was developing his own Comedy Central series this past year, an 80s-style public affairs show he created and hosted, but the network passed on the project. Since then, he’s been working on his stand-up career, appeared in Mike Birbiglia’s movie Sleepwalk with Me, guest-wrote on the new Adult Swim show Newsreaders, and did voices for Comedy Central’s upcoming animated series TripTank and Nickelodeon’s Fanboy and Chum Chum. No reason was given by Comedy Central for Cenac’s departure, but I’m sure getting away from John Oliver was at least part of his motivation.
