It’s been over a decade since Michael Richards’s last regular TV gig (on his short-live NBC vehicle The Michael Richards Show), but he’s returning to acting to co-star with Kirstie Alley in her new TV Land pilot Giant Baby, Deadline reports. In the show, Kirstie Alley plays a Broadway star dealing with her long-lost son (Eric Petersen) coming back into her life. Alley’s former Cheers costar Rhea Perlman will play her assistant and best friend, while Michael Richards will be her limo driver. It’s great to see Richards returning to the spotlight after spending so much time away. He was funny in an arc as himself on Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2009 and, most recently, in Jerry Seinfeld’s web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, signaling that he’s been eyeing a comeback. Hopefully, he’ll be playing the kind of limo driver who eats out of his boss’s refrigerator and always slides in through her front door to a ton of studio audience applause.
