Rob Corddry Will Star in the Pilot for ABC’s Adaptation of the UK Series ‘Spy’

Childrens Hospital’s Rob Corddry has been cast as the lead in a new ABC comedy pilot called Spy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Corddry will play Tim, the not-so-smart father of a super intelligent son who inadvertently takes a job at the secret service to impress his kid.  Spy is based on the British show of the same name, which was created by Simeon Goulden, and Goulden is writing the US adaptation as well. The UK version of Spy recently wrapped its second season, and you can check it out on Hulu here. Rob Corddry recently appeared in a ton of movies and TV guest star roles on Happy Endings, Ben and Kate, and Community. He’s currently filming the fifth season of his Adult Swim series Childrens Hospital and is in “exploratory talks†to star in and co-write Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Hopefully, Corddry starring in Spy won’t prevent him from working on the Hot Tub Time Machine sequel because Americans will be devastated.
