Jeffrey Tambor was a guest on yesterday’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, so they had him guest announce the show and do the Hank Kingsley applause/applesauce intro from The Larry Sanders Show over a black-and-white credits sequence that paid homage to the show. In addition to that, they had Tambor continue to serve as guest announcer throughout the monologue, The Roots played some Sanders-esque intro music, and Fallon came out on a spotlight a la Sanders. Too bad they couldn’t get Rip Torn back to laugh like Artie and rile the audience up by waving his script around during the monologue.
