The cast of Paul Thomas Anderson’s big screen adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel Inherent Vice continues to grow. Maya Rudolph, fresh off the cancelation of her NBC sitcom Up All Night, is playing a minor role in the film, as revealed by some set photos that leaked today. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as stoned private eye Doc Sportello, who’s investigating an ex-girlfriend’s disappearance. From the photos, The Playlist infers that Rudolph, who’s married to Paul Thomas Anderson, is playing a nurse at Dr. Buddy Tubeside’s vitamin shop, and a very pregnant one by the looks of those photographs. The prestigious film’s large cast also includes Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin, and Martin Short. This is Rudolph’s first time appearing in one of her husband’s movies.
