In the ranking of sexy accents, the Scottish brogue has to be near the top. And in the ranking of sexy Scottish brogues, Alan Cumming’s is definitely in the top five. But just how powerful are his melodious tones? Is there anything he can’t make more sonorous with that titillating tongue? We surprised Cumming (who is in his closing week of performances of Macbeth on Broadway) with a stack of Ryan Lochte tweets, porn DVD titles, and a bunch of other — shall we say — sub-Shakespearean bits of text, and asked him to read them cold. The results were magical and lyrical (and occasionally aurally NSFW: headphones!).
