What kind of film is The Lego Movie, which was teased today at Comic-Con and is due out next year? Some of it is stop motion, some of it is computer animated, all of it is comedic, and it’s also kind of a superhero movie? So say directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who cast their 21 Jump Street stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill to cameo as little yellow versions of Superman and the Green Lantern, respectively. They’re not the stars of the film — Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks play the Lego leads, with Will Arnett in a supporting role as Batman — but guess who else is making an appearance, according to the directors? How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman, in what will essentially be the first film representation of the character in … maybe ever? Smulders was once Joss Whedon’s pick for the character when he was drafting a live-action Wonder Woman, though he eventually drafted the actress to play Agent Maria Hill in The Avengers, a role she’ll reprise briefly in the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot. But hey! Wonder Woman! Where ya been, lady?
