HBO has a bundle of stalled and slow-moving novel adaptations in its bullpen. One is Olive Kitteridge, based on Elizabeth Strout’s Pulitzer-winning novel-in-stories, and it’s apparently really going to happen. Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad), Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), and The Newsroom’s John Gallagher Jr. have all joined Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins in the cast. The Kids Are All Right director Lisa Cholodenko is helming the miniseries. Hopefully it will go well and they’ll make A Visit from the Goon Squad and that will be great and then they’ll bring The Corrections back from the dead.
