Will Tina Fey and Amy Poehler come back to host the 2014 Golden Globes? Deadline reports that NBC and the award show’s producer Dick Clark Productions have invited them to return as hosts for next year’s ceremony, which received critical acclaim and the Globes’ best ratings in five years. NBC isn’t having active conversations with Fey and Poehler yet, but they have received an open invitation. Last year, they were announced as hosts in mid-October, and this year, the awards show is expected to choose a host by November.
It’s hard to guess whether Fey and Poehler will return. While they seemed to have a great time last year, both are busy with movie and TV careers. Poehler is a producer-star on Parks and Recreation, which is entering its sixth season, and Fey is under a four-year contract at Universal TV that has her developing a show at NBC, another at Fox, and she’s expected to pitch more shows to the networks, including one she’s written. Hosting the Golden Globes is only a two-week commitment, unlike The Oscars, which takes three months to prep for, so hopefully, Fey and Poehler are able to make it work for 2014 and every year after that ever.
