Miley Cyrus’s decision to appear naked in the video for “Wrecking Ball†recently made the single her first number one song, thanks to Billboard’s new-ish “Hot 100†formula, which factors in YouTube views. So, maybe the outfit she wore for her performance at last night’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas — underwear and nipple pasties, a white mesh dress with a bondage-inspired collar, a furry, long-sleeved shrug (perhaps created with the arms of one of those teddy bears she likes to dance with), and sparkly black cowboy boot–gladiator sandal hybrids — was some kind of tribute to that. Or, more likely, she just likes the nearly nude raver look. Because there is nothing outrage-inducing about this particular Miley ensemble and show, we’re going to do ourselves and everyone else a favor by not thinking too hard about what it could mean, especially because she appeared to be crying over her breakup with Liam Helmsworth during the set.
