Bryan Cranston will make his Broadway debut this winter, playing Lyndon B. Johnson in All the Way, the show’s producers announced this weekend. The play begins with JFK’s assassination and follows the first year of LBJ’s presidency, including his interactions with Martin Luther King Jr. and J. Edgar Hoover. The three-hour play, by Robert Schenkkan, is currently finishing up a run in Cambridge, Massachusetts (where it earned decent reviews), and will move to New York at some unspecified point in the next few months with its director and star still attached, according to the Times. Maybe after this and Trumbo, it’ll be time for Cranston to do another comedy.
