Bret McKenzie of Flights of the Conchords is developing an animated comedy about NASA for Fox. According to TV Guide, the “untitled workplace comedy follows the exploits of a group of employees toiling away at an almost-obsolete NASA space center in Boulder, Colorado.†It’s not clear yet whether McKenzie will voice a character on the show; right now, he’s set to write and executive produce it with King of the Hill writers Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May.
If the show moves forward, it would be added to Fox’s waning Sunday night animation block. The network is losing American Dad! to TBS next year, and it decided not to air the animated Murder Police at all, despite having ordered 13 episodes last year.
