Janelle Monáe announced on her site that she must push back concert dates in Anaheim, San Diego and Phoenix due to “strict doctor’s orders for mandatory vocal rest.†The Electric Lady apologized to her fans before addressing the elephant in the room: “But alas, apparently even the most expertly designed android breaks down sometimes and must recharge.†Phew. As sick as Monáe might be, it is not worth breaking character and acknowledging she’s not actually a robot.
