On last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, we saw the Governor’s budding soft side turn back into whatever evil hardness defined him previously. In his new camp, with his new family, he seemed like a more pensive, sensitive guy for a second — less mustache-twirling villain and more notable softie Dawson Leery. (It didn’t last, of course.) Dawson never threw anyone’s body off the end of his pier, but both he and the Governor like to stand at the end of their docks, gaze out over the water, and contemplate not waiting for their lives to be over.
