The terrific Oscar-nominated documentary 20 Feet From Stardom, about megatalented backup singers, is on its way to the adaptation marketplace. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mick Jagger (who appears in the movie) and the film’s director, Morgan Neville, are in talks to executive produce a one-hour scripted TV drama based on the doc, and there are also plans to adapt the film as a Broadway show (which could star some of the women from the movie). While the movie traced the history of backup singers, the TV show would reportedly center only on current performers. Okay! That sounds totally fine and maybe even like a good idea.
