Kanye West might have started his Late Night interview as serious and stone-faced as he always is, what with his “freeing†face masks and his synesthesia and his declarations that “everything in the world is exactly the same,†but once Seth Meyers showed a clip of Kanye’s SNL VMA pumpkin-patch spoof from 2007, Yeezy seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself. “Life is life. There are ups and downs,†Kanye enthused. “They will give an eight-year-old the best pumpkin at any given time and you just have to be prepared for these types of things.†That’s the spirit, Yeezy.
He also performed a stripped-down medley – “Jesus Walksâ€, “Touch the Skyâ€, “Strongerâ€, “Heartlessâ€, “All of the Lightsâ€, “Mercyâ€, and “Black Skinhead.†Yep, Kanye’s killing the talk show: “That’s why I do TV. That’s why I come and do talk shows, so you guys can have an ERRRR in the matrix every now and then.â€
