Comedy Central duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are joining the cast of FX’s TV adaptation of the Coen Brothers’ movie Fargo, EW reports. The two stars of the Comedy Central sketch show Key & Peele, which wrapped up its third season in December, will appear in the final four episodes of Fargo’s 10-episode limited run as FBI partners Bill Budge (Key) and Webb Pepper (Peele).
Set to debut on April 15th, Fargo will follow different characters and a different case from the Oscar-winning movie that inspired it but it will keep the movie’s subject matter and tone. Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk, Kate Walsh, Adam Goldberg, Oliver Platt, Rachel Blanchard, and Glenn Howerton also star. While it’s a limited run 10-episode series, if Fargo’s a hit, it could return for another season following completely different characters a la American Horror Story or True Detective.
