Tina Fey Is Starring in a Movie Adaptation of the Memoir ‘The Taliban Shuffle’

Tina Fey has lined up her next movie project. She’s starring in and producing an adaptation of journalist Kim Barker’s memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Variety reports. The book details Barker’s time spent as a journalist in the region in 2002. Fey’s 30 Rock co-showrunner Robert Carlock wrote the script for the adaptation, and Lorne Michaels is producing. There’s currently no director attached to the project.

Fey can next be seen acting in The Muppets Most Wanted with Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell and the family comedy This Is Where I Leave You with Jason Bateman and Adam Driver. Both are being released later this year. In the TV world, she has a new sitcom she co-created Robert Carlock, tentatively titled Tooken and starring Ellie Kemper, that was given an early series order by NBC and will debut this fall. She and Carlock are also producing Cabot College, a Fox sitcom pilot starring Margaret Cho and Fortune Feimster that has a series commitment.
