In addition to renewing Comedy Bang! Bang! and The Birthday Boys this morning, IFC announced today that they’ve picked up two new series.
The first, American Storage, stars Rob Huebel as a bachelor who starts living in a storage unit and befriends the guy who works there (newcomer John Karna). It was created by Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, who co-wrote the upcoming Seth Rogen/Zac Efron movie Neighbors and based American Storage on their 2006 short film of the same name. IFC has ordered 8 episodes of the show, which will premiere sometime in 2015.
The second new IFC show is called American Documentary, created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Seth Meyers. American Documentary is a half-hour series of documentaries and biopics on fictitious subjects that will feature a regular repertory cast. Armisen and Hader will play recurring roles on the show. IFC has ordered 6 episodes of American Documentary, also premiering in 2015.
IFC also announced the CollegeHumor Comedy Music Awards, a 90-minute special from CollegeHumor set to air in 2015. It’s a fake self-important awards show honoring the best in the musical comedy genre. The network announced two comedies in development also: Westside, from producer Joel McHale, was created by newcomer Jordan Okun and follows a bunch of suburbanites forced into a life of crime; The Bank, a comedy about a sperm bank written by  Brigitte Bako, creator of the Canadian comedy The G-Spot.
