On top of their recent multiple-season renewal of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Deadline reports that Sony’s video site Crackle has also added a comedy with Bryan Cranston serving as executive producer. Titled Tightrope, the series will “replace a character from a classic detective series with a modern-day actor†and “juxtaposes the modern character with irreverent comic sensibilities and also with older characters from another era to reshape the stories into a contemporary comedy.†No cast or release date has been announced yet for Tightrope, but the idea of Bryan Cranston infusing humor into old detective shows sounds very promising.
