A whole lot of Disney animated films have been getting the live-action treatment lately, but Dumbo, the pretty racist 1941 classic about a flying elephant, would seem an unlikely choice to be remade featuring real actors. Wrong! According to THR, Transformers franchise writer Ehren Kruger is penning the script for a live-action Dumbo, which will also add a “unique family story that parallels Dumbo’s story.†No word on whether there’s also a Lion King featuring real lions in our future, but at this point it seems like a terrible inevitability.
