The Wrap reports that John Goodman is in talks to join Helen Mirren and Bryan Cranston in Trumbo, a biopic about the Oscar-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Spartacus, Roman Holiday), who was blacklisted in the late ‘40s after refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Cranston is to play Trumbo and Mirren will play Hedda Hopper, the gossip columnist who helped take him down, while Goodman is in talks to play Frank King, a producer who hired Trumbo while he was blacklisted. Fun fact: Along with Argo, this marks the second movie Cranston and Goodman have starred in together that has a one word, bisyllabic title ending in o. What’s next on the docket — Disney’s live-action Dumbo reboot? (We hope so. That would be awesome.)
