After playing Muhammad Ali’s corner man in Ali, Jamie Foxx is putting on some gloves of his own. Variety announced today that Foxx will play Mike Tyson in an untitled biopic written by Terence Winter. While HBO made a TV movie about Tyson in 2005 (as well as bringing his one-man show to the screen in 2013), this will be the first attempt to make his life into a feature film. It’s not clear what part of his life the movie will focus on — his rise to heavyweight champion? His troubles with the law? The ear-biting incident? The tiger-rearing? His cameo in The Hangover? — but it’s safe to say there’s plenty of material to work with.
