Here’s the video for John Legend’s syrupy new female empowerment anthem “You & I (Nobody in the World)†featuring Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox, comedienne Tig Notaro, and Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen, along with a bunch of non-famous people. “You’re my one and only girl … all of the stars they don’t shine brighter than you are,†croons Legend, as women of all stripes scrutinize themselves in the mirror, including a boxer with a bloody nose, a young girl getting her ears pierced, and a woman crying as she reveals her mastectomy scars. It has a bit of a Dove commercial vibe at times, but the overall sentiment is nice.
