Starz is not just a premium-cable channel that airs your favorite B-movies, soon it will also be a premium-cable channel that airs TV shows based on your favorite B-movies. The network announced today that it had joined forces with Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell to create Ash vs. Evil Dead, a half-hour series based on The Evil Dead. Considering how the network managed to turn even staid, Oscar-winning fare like Crash and Spartacus into ridiculous pulp extravaganzas, this seems like a good fit. The show’s ten-episode first season will air sometime next year. Campbell will star; Raimi will executive-produce; and everyone involved can forget that 2013 reboot ever happened.
