NBC is rushing the final season of Parks and Recreation on a new time slot far away from the once-great NBC Thursday comedy block. According to Entertainment Weekly, Parks and Rec’s seventh and last season will kick off on Tuesday, January 13th at 8:00pm – two days after Amy Poehler cohosts the Golden Globes with Tina Fey – and air back-to-back episodes each week until the hourlong series finale on February 24th. “I think everyone feels like, ‘We don’t want to overstay our welcome. We want to go out on a high note,’†creator Mike Schur told EW earlier this year. “We did this big creative leap at the end of last year and now we get to pursue that in a fun way for half the year and then we’ll wave goodbye and exit stage left.†Sadly for Parks and Rec fans, it looks like the final season will be gone as soon as it began.
