Idina Menzel will sing the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl, she announced on Twitter. Last year opera star Renée Fleming sang it, but in general, the spot goes to a pop star: Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Jordan Sparks, and Beyoncé have all performed in recent years. “We all still do stuff, too, you know,†said everyone else from the original cast of Rent.
