FX revealed some new projects at TCA over the weekend, including the season 5 premiere of Louie and two other projects that are part of C.K.’s development deal with the network. Louie’s eight-episode fifth season will premiere on April 9th at 10:30pm after the series premiere of Billy Crystal and Josh Gad’s The Comedians, while frequent C.K. collaborator Pamela Adlon will star in her own comedy series called Better Things with C.K. onboard as director. Adlon will play “Sam, a working actor trying to earn a living, navigate her three daughters’ lives, having fun with a friend or two, and also — just maybe — squeezing in some sex once in a while. Her life is funny to watch, but you wouldn’t want to live it (except sometimes).†Adlon will write the pilot and serve as a co-executive producer. In addition to the return of Louie and Better Things, FX also announced that it will televise C.K.’s next standup special after it debuts on his website. It’s expected to air sometime in the spring.
