A brand new SNL documentary is set to open the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival this April. According to THR, the documentary – called Live from New York! – will kick off the NYC film festival on April 15th and sounds like a pretty comprehensive look at the show’s 40-year history “complete with archival footage and commentary from past and present cast members, journalists, hosts and crew, among others.†Said Lorne Michaels on the news: “After 40 years, the timing just felt right.†In the meantime, Hulu currently has James Franco’s 2010 documentary Saturday Night available for free, so that should hold you over until April.
