Jay Z Will Finally Perform His B-Sides at a Free NYC Concert … But There’s a Catch

If Jay Z’s #TidalFacts rant on Twitter wasn’t enough to sell you on Tidal, the man has something even better up his sleeve. On May 13, Hov will perform a free show in NYC (as he often does), but this time he’ll only be playing B-sides! That means no “Empire State of Mind,†“99 Problems,†or any of the other hits he’s been trotting out for years — just his non-singles and (hopefully!) rare songs. It’s the kind of show die-hard fans have been begging him for, so much so that they got a shout-out from Tidal’s PR team in the announcement:

So, what’s the catch? Well, naturally you’ll have to be subscribed to Tidal. And you’ll also have to create an impressive playlist to win tickets (you’ll probably want to include some songs from Tidal’s owner on there). But even if you don’t win, the whole thing will be livestreamed — where else? — on Tidal. A personal request: “Feelin’ It.†Good luck!
