CBS has officially announced the inevitable: Beginning early July, Showtime will offer its own stand-alone streaming service. Subscriptions for the service, aptly named SHOWTIME, will cost $10.99 a month and will begin rolling out first for Apple customers on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple TV via the SHOWTIME app. (No Apple Watch just yet, it seems.) The subscription, which will include a 30-day free trail, will offer both on-demand access to Showtime’s original and licensed content as well as live broadcasts of its programming. HBO launched its own stand-alone service in April. Cord-cutters, enjoy!
