HBO just ordered a new season of its freshman comedy Ballers. The pay network announced in a press release today that the Dwayne Johnson-starring comedy will return with a second season. “The charismatic and hugely talented Dwayne Johnson, along with the rest of the Ballers cast, has truly struck a chord with the HBO audience,†said HBO president Michael Lombardo. “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response the series has received and look forward to another exciting season.†Ballers premiered last month and is currently in the middle of its 10-episode debut season, which is set to wrap up in August.
