Banksy’s next project is taking over Tropicana, an abandoned outdoor swimming pool in Weston-Super-Mare, a seaside town in North Somerset, England. The mysterious artist transformed the space into an exhibition styled as an amusement park called Dismaland. “I loved the Tropicana as a kid, so getting to throw these doors open again is a real honour,†Banksy said through the town council. The exhibition’s website keeps it cheekier. “Are you looking for an alternative to the sugar-coated tedium of the average family day out? Or just somewhere a lot cheaper?†The exhibition, which runs from August 22 to September 27, brings together local and international artists, including Damien Hirst, and features musical acts like Pussy Riot and Massive Attack.
