In the wake of the box-office success of Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, THR says that Paramount is looking to keep the Tom Cruise train rolling with a sequel to 2012’s Jack Reacher. That’s right — it’s time for Jack Reacher 2: This Time, He’ll Reach for Even More Jacks. Based on the popular novels by Lee Child, the original Reacher was only a modest success at the U.S. box office, but like many Cruise films, it was a solid hit overseas. Its sequel is currently set for late 2016, and Paramount is currently scrambling to figure out which German documentarian should play the bad guy this time.
