At Saturday’s Global Citizen Festival, which was created with the intention of ending extreme poverty by 2030, the quintessential ‘90s band and the quintessential modern pop-star shared the stage, and it was pretty sweet. After playing a few notes from the classic Pearl Jam track “Alive,†a very sweaty Eddie Vedder introduced an immaculate-looking Beyoncé. They performed a cover of “Redemption Song†together. The alt-rock frontman’s gravel-throated baritone and Queen Bey’s sanguine voice worked surprisingly well together. You can watch the song below:
