If you thought the major networks might start to ease up on reboots, sequels, and revivals, think again. According to Entertainment Weekly, ABC has given a script commitment to a half-hour sequel series based on My Best Friend’s Wedding. The series would begin where the 1997 film ends and follow Julianne as she “navigates her life in New York City, with best friend— and occasional stand-in fiance — George as her guide.†Original My Best Friend’s Wedding writer Ron Bass will co-write with Jessica Amento and co-executive produce alongside original producers Jerry and Janet Zucker and Mike Menchel.
