Kanye West Surprised the Internet With These Two Semi-New, Really Nostalgic Tracks

Surprise: If you’ve really missed Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak days, then today’s a really good day. If not, no worries — day’s almost over. Regardless, the beneficent entity known to some as Yeezus, and others as Mr. Future President, humbly made a SoundCloud without telling anybody and unveiled two semi-new songs (essentially remixes) there. (Pitchfork has confirmed their validity.) The year 2008 evidently never ended, so hit play below and let these tracks transport you to a time when the Lakers still reigned supreme in basketball and Taylor Swift’s “Love Story†was dominating the radio. First, here’s the updated version of “Say You Will,†which features the oldie blended with the fittingly divine strings and backup vocals of Pulitzer Prize–winning violinist-singer-composer Caroline Shaw:
