Entertainment Weekly reports that Nicholas Sparks will be taking time away from his burgeoning furniture empire to produce a sitcom based on his own life for ABC. Written by Austin Winsberg (of the underrated Kevin Williamson mystery drama Glory Days), The Next Chapter will be inspired by Sparks’s recent separation from his wife and will revolve around a similarly divorced novelist who is grappling with his reputation as the foremost authority on love and white people kissing in the rain.

The author’s swinging bachelor life should be perfect for anyone who liked Cougartown but for some reason wished the protagonist was a dude going through a midlife crisis. This marks the second foray into television for Sparks, as the CW is currently developing a television adaptation of The Notebook.
