ABC has a new comedy in the works about love in the age of the internet. According to Deadline, the network has given a put pilot commitment to Read Bottom Up, a comedy based on Neel Shah and Sloane Crosley’s 2015 novel of the same name. Shah and Crosley will also write the TV adaptation, which will follow “young New Yorkers Madeline and Elliot, who meet then embark on a relationship, much of it playing out online and under the scrutiny and well-intentioned interference of their respective best friends and confidants Emily and David.†Colbert Report co-creator Ben Karlin – who is also behind the Marvel Comics-inspired project Damage Control at ABC – will co-executive produce.
