After Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher (maybe), which Marvel superhero will be the next to get their own Netflix TV show? Literally any of them, says Ted Sarandos. “Any character that’s in there is on the table,†the Netflix head said at the TCA press tour this week. “It’s always possible. All the characters in the universe could also spin out [with their own shows].â€Â (As long as their rights aren’t held by Sony or Fox, he didn’t add.) But if that brings to mind an apocalyptic vision of peak superhero TV, with each new day bringing 13 new episodes devoted to increasingly more obscure caped crusaders, don’t fret — the logistics of TV production will keep you sane by preventing that sort of doomsday scenario from ever happening. “Right now, these are produced at the scale of a major film, so there are long production times and long post times,†Sarandos said. “It’s not the goal to put out more than one or two out a year.†Fans of Hellcow, your mailing campaign starts … now.
