While accepting the award for Best Supporting Actor at tonight’s Golden Globes, Sylvester Stallone thanked his “imaginary friend†Rocky Balboa and agency William Morris Endeavor (twice), but not Creed’s director or his co-stars. Viewers were quick to point out his gaffe on Twitter, with Ava DuVernay even chiming in to thank Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan on Stallone’s behalf:
But it appears Stallone corrected his mistake — the cameras just didn’t catch it. According to reports from inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Stallone returned to the stage during the commercial break to thank Coogler, Jordan, and Tessa Thompson for “doing all the work†in Creed:
