Each month, several films and TV shows leave Netflix’s catalogue. We provide a list of titles leaving the platform, along with a selection of titles that may interest you. For more comprehensive coverage of the best titles available on Netflix and elsewhere, check out Vulture’s Streaming Hub, which is updated throughout the month.
Wibbly Wobbly: Classic Doctor Who (Collections 1–18), Doctor Who (Seasons 1–8)
The BBC’s always-chipper time-traveling Doctor first appeared on TV screens from 1963 to 1989, then reappeared in 2005 in a reboot from Russell T. Davies. Even if you took the weekend off, you wouldn’t have time to binge the whole show, but you can start with Vulture’s introduction to Doctor Who — think of all inside jokes on British TV shows you’ll get now.

Out with a bang: The Hurt Locker (2008)
Kathryn Bigelow’s Best Picture winner might be the greatest film about the Iraq War, though there’s not much competition on that front (yet). The Hurt Locker takes you where so many people don’t want to go: in the middle of a bomb squad, in the middle of Baghdad, in the middle of one giant geopolitical mess.

246: Rain Man (1988)
Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman pair up for a story about a man taking care of his brother, an autistic savant. Hoffman won Best Actor for the showier role, but Tom Cruise’s complicated and frustrated foil anchors the film, and deserves just as much credit.

He’ll be back (just maybe not on Netflix): The Terminator (1984)
James Cameron’s sci-fi/action hybrid was a film that launched a thousand attempted reboots and solidified Arnold’s film career. Ignore the recent Terminator installments and the universe’s shaky, time-travel mythology, and focus on the pure, gangbusters action.

Crying time: Terms of Endearment (1983)
A classic tearjerker with a classic pedigree — James L. Brooks (Broadcast News) directs and Shirley MacLaine (she’s Shirley MacLaine) stars — Terms of Endearment is a mother-daughter story that’s brutally effective at what it does. Mostly it’ll make you want to call your parents, or your kids. Maybe just get everyone on one big conference call for some collective catharsis.

A star is born: Problem Child: Leslie Jones (2009)
Leslie Jones quickly has become a standout among SNL’s cast, and she’ll appear in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters in July. Now’s a good time to see (or revisit) her earlier work with this 2009 stand-up special. A master of space work, Jones elevates simple conceits with ramped-up energy and physical precision. In one bit, she compares dating and basketball, eventually assuming a defensive stance and promising, “He ain’t going to get none of that baseline.â€
