Before it premiered, one of the producers of ABC’s Bible-ish drama Of Kings and Prophets described the show as similar to Game of Thrones, but without dragons. A better description might have been Game of Thrones, but without an audience: Just nine days after it premiered, ABC has essentially canceled OKAP. The network says it has pulled the show from its lineup, effective immediately; the 10 p.m. Tuesday time-slot will be filled by Shark Tank spin-off Beyond the Tank through May. Ratings for OKAP were beyond bad, even in today’s era of lowered expectations. The show opened to a meager 3.3 million viewers last week and then fell to just 2.4 million this week. (It did even worse with ABC’s target of adults under 50, falling to just a 0.5 this week). OKAP’s flop comes a year after NBC struck out with its more directly biblical drama A.D. ABC produced ten episodes of OKAP, and is currently deciding whether or where the show’s remaining eight hours might air.
